Getting around London town

Travel by train to London last weekend was so easy. Hop on the train at Moor Street, sit down, end up in Marylebone. Change train at station. Sit down, end up in Harrow. Simple! (It helped that the first train was probably extended to cope with the demand of two football matches and London Marathoners.) Fast forward a few hours and a quick taxi up the hill to Harrow school - a superb venue for a wedding and reception. Great views of London, Wembley Stadium and the nearly full moon. Congratulations to the clearly-besotted couple.
Sunday morning and another quick jaunt on the tube to end up in Trafalgar Square. Zoomed-in pic of the big blue Cockerel, and onwards to watch the marathon from the Embankment right outside the Ministry of Defence. We used 4G tech to watch the live tv coverage while we waited for the athletes to reach us at mile 25. We could tell they were getting close when the helicopters overhead started to multiply. Fabulous to see the elite speeding along after two hours at full speed. Mo got our loudest cheers, though Walter Kipsang stole the show.
Onwards to the Queen Elizabeth park at the former London 2012 Olympic park. Hugely well-used with many families enjoying the sunshine, and particularly the water play area. My favourite sight was the sopping wet outfit hanging from the young Birch tree branch. Giant crayon-coloured buffers in the canal (?) waterway beneath the soaring arch of the Aquatic centre just one example of deliberate and brilliant design. (The pool contained a brilliant floating assault course, ready for the Easter holidays!) I performed an admirable (and filmed) impression of a nodding dog on the long tube back to the car. And repeated the performance on the drive home.
